will my sata 3 Hard drive be compatible with the sata 6 on new motherboards?

As the guys pointed out, you shouldn't face problems as all SATA revisions are forward and backward compatible with each other. SATAII will work perfectly fine on a SATAIII port. As they explained, the link will be as fast as its slowest part meaning if you use a SATAII drive on a SATAIII port you will have SATAII speeds.

On the other hand, modern drives work at about 150MB/s while SATAII's speed limit is about 300MB/s (which no HDD can currently reach) and SATAIII's limit is about 600MB/s (which no modern HDD can reach either). That being said, regardless if you are using SATAII or SATAIII you won't see a bottleneck since the HDD itself works at lower speeds. SATAI has a limit of about 150MB/s and most HDDs hardly saturate it so you should be fine.
