HD598 Replacement

Current cans are facing wear and tear issues such as rusting so I guess it's time for an upgrade... 

Was looking at the DT880s but I'm afraid that they might be too fatiguing since I put on headphones for the entire day on days off. Don't have access to them so I can't try them out for myself lol. 

Any close substitutes I can find for the HD598s? Can't find any 2nd hand ones on sale locally locally so I'm looking at other stuff now :x Prefer open headphones too, currently using a Nuforce u-Dac3 but will be upgrading to a Fostex HP-A3 in December when my friend is back from Tokyo.

I was gonna say, didn't Sennheiser release the HD 599s? Maybe check the 579s or the 599s.......

 

My 518s are still fine after a year with minimal wear and tear.

Well my current pair of 598 are 2nd hand, previous owner used them minimally for about 2 years + another 2 years from me. Didn't expect to hold on that long too since the cables were more or less faded when I received them.

People die if they are killed.
