Windows 8 Webcam Causing Apps to Crash.

I am Using a Microsoft HD3000 series Lifecam. I of course have the Lifecam dashboard. But when I try and use my webcam with any product besides Skype or native Camera App it will cause the app to crash. I had downloaded 4-5 different Time Lapse photo apps but none of them work. Any Clue what I am doing wrong?
