I want to do this http://joshuawoehlke.com/android-raspberry-pi-display-over-usb/  . But I don't know if I could replace the phone with an android tablet (4.4.4). It says to use tethering, but I'm not sure how I can do that with my tablet(that doesn't have cell service). So, how do I enable tethering?

Thanks for any help provided.

I got it working on my phone (if anyone was wondering) but the small screen is not the easiest to work with.

I'm pretty sure you should still be able to use it. My wi-fi only tablet can USB tether to a PC.

Oh sorry should've probably actually answered the question. Go to settings... Other networks or more under the networking section... Tethering... And then you should be able to turn it on.

I am only seeing (under more, under networks) Airplane and VPN. No tethering option. Also, when I used my phone it said "connected as a media device" when I plugged it into my Pi. Nothing on the tablet. My cables are fine, and when I put a usb into my tablet(via OTG) it recognized it.

What brand tablet is it?

Acer Iconia Tab 8. I also have a nexus 7 but the micro usb port is kind of broken. If it is easier to fix a micro usb port on a nexus 7 than to enable tethering on my acer tablet, then that would be fine as well.
