So I have had my desktop for about 2 years and when I built it it was decent but not top of the line. Now I find myself wondering if I should upgrade my current one and wait to slowly rebuild, or just wait a while longer, save more and make a new build with some parts from my old build recycled. My main focus is processor and GPU because I feel like those are starting to slip in performance.

Current Build:
-i5-4670 3.4 GHz
-GTX 770 1111Mhz Base Clock
-GIGABYTE G1.Sniper Z97 LGA 1150
-16GB RAM Corsair Vengeance (DDR3)
-Corsair CX600W PSU

"Future" Build:
-i7-6700k 4.0 GHz
-GTX 1080/70
-TBD

My main question is would it be worth it to upgrade a few parts or am I right at the cusp where it would be a better idea to make a whole new build?

i would say just buy the gpu for now and then when amd zen or intel kaby lake come out you can make a choice between those 2. Right now, it's just not worth it to upgrade to lga 2011 or 1151 when a new generation is coming in less than 3 months

I'd get a new GPU. Your CPU should be fine for 3 years.
