This is a solid MLC flash based drive and you get twice the capacity for $10 more:  http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/w9rcCJ/patriot-internal-hard-drive-ptl240gs25ssdr

This wireless adapter is more capable for the same price:  http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/tTdqqs/gigabyte-wireless-network-card-gcwb867di

You want air pressure to be more positive than negative.  It will limit the dust entering the PC as the air coming in as it can be filtered.  If the pressure is negative, dust will enter through the case's air gaps as fresh air will be pulled in from every crevice.  As you run a positive pressure system, as time goes on, the pressure will move more and more towards the negative as filters clog up... at least until you clean the filters.

The white will not mess with the colour scheme.  White is a neutral.  I personally think it will add to the look.

OK.

I'd recommend at least 240GB SSD, so you can fit a few games in it. A lot of games especially multiplayers can benefit with faster loading times. It doesn't have to be an EVO.

It wouldn't be $30, since he'll need a CPU cooler with it as well. And the cheapest red/black Z170 mobo is $180.

Swap out the hybrid HDD for a standard one. No point getting a hybrid when you have a dedicated SSD.

Looks good.

Wait, that thing is $250... $100 more than the 23 inch.  Meh, it is up to you if it is worth it.

I personally would rather have two 23" monitors for $300.

On the whole 6600 / 6600k / CPU cooler affair.

Either you get a 6600 and you use the stock cooler that comes with it... or you get a 6600k (comes without stock cooler) and you get an aftermarket cooler.

Getting a 6600 with an aftermarket cooler makes no sense, given the small price difference between the CPU's alone.

Personally, given the high cost of the motherboard & whole configuration I'd go for the 6600k + cooler + Z170 motherboard. Shouldn't really add too much cost percentagewise.

Also, the 120 GB SSD is on the small side and 120 GB really isn't very cost-effective anymore. 256 makes actually makes more sense on a cost-per-GB basis.

I am never going to end up using the oc capabilities of the cpu anyways, so why spend the extra money when I don't need to.

The cheaper one has higher frequency @ 2666Mhz vs the 2400 in your list. Your H170 will downclock the speed to to 2133Mhz anyway but in case in the future when you need to sell it to upgrade to DDR5 you get more value.

Just get it.

You will want an aftermarket CPU cooler.  The i7 6700 does boost to 4.0GHz.  This will generate heat.  You picked a good case so stock cooling might be okay, although loud.  Having the CPU well cooled will assure stability at the boost clock.

$35:

Again... getting a non-stock cooler is most of the cost of going from 6600 to 6600k. If you get custom cooler, get the 6600k as well, even if you don't upgrade. The clock difference is larger than the price difference.

I honestly don't know why people keep recommending the 6600 with a custom cooler. The 6600 only makes sense when you use the stock cooler that comes with it. (this is mostly critique of some advice, not of you GoofyBiscuit).

And I again recommend a 250 GB SSD. You're simply getting more value.

For the same reason, I lean towards 2 GB HDD's instead of 1 GB models (if you can actually use the extra space and afford the few extra dollars).

I don't want to get an unlocked cpu because I will never end up using the oc functionality. How is the S340 for air cooling? Design? It is hard to tell from images. Do you know?

Because the price is the same, I would recommend the i7 6700K.  You should understand this CPU will last well past 5 years for gaming... more like 10 years.  In five years, the option to punch in a few numbers and get a 15% boost is a good option to have.

The S340 is a well built case.  Cooling is decent.  The Phanteks Enthoo Pro M is an option, and the two 140mm fans will fit in it as well:  http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/jrVBD3/phanteks-case-phes515pbk

The Eclipse P400 is around the same price and comes in black, white or grey (140mm fans are supported in this too):  http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/xjZ2FT/phanteks-case-phec416pbk
