What would cause my headset to make a popping sound when I move it and then suddenly go really quiet on the mic? I reported it to support but since I already had it RMAd before they cant do it again. It sometimes emits really bad static to whoever I'm talking to, it pops and goes quiet, or sometimes the mic wont work at all.

It could just be an unfortunate design/material of the headset itself. Personally, I have a headset with parts made out of a specific plastic that loves to squeak and rub against each other to create a noise that is absolutely heard over voice comms. If you just twist/fiddle with the headset in your hands, does it make any noise?

As for the mic, try moving the microphone around. Many gaming headsets end up with finicky microphones as such. The static could be due to microphone boost as well. More boost = louder microphone input = but much static.
