SO ladies and gents; I'm in the market for a new laptop. I'm not totally tech illiterate but finding the right laptop isn't exactly something I'm good at. I figure that if I can give you guys some sort of idea of what I want then maybe it'll pin down to what I'm after?

Okay, so here goes.

What I'll use it for: Work, surfing and movies really. No games. I'm a tab whore on Chrome but so long as I can put more RAM in then it's fine

Budget: ~£600-£700

Big wants:

- At least a 1080p res and MUST have an IPS display

- Anywhere between 13.5 - 16 inches screen wise

- Fast and nippy. SSD at the least I imagine

- Nice keyboard and touchpad to use. Might seem silly to say but it kinda takes out two of the three needs if it doesn't haha

- "Sleek and sexy" design. By that I mean as long as it doesn't feel cheap and plastic like then that's fantastic

- Headphone jack (speakers aren't a biggie)

Don't minds:

- Storage size isn't a biggie

- Numpad is preferable but not a necessity

- DVD drive

- Ethernet jack (though a good WiFi card is a must)

- Battery life is shite on all laptops so what does that matter haha

Cheers folks. :)

In my opinion you just can't beat a good Clevo. Europe right?  http://www.clevo.com.tw/clevo_prodetail.asp?id=950&lang=en

I especially didn't mean to link a crazy Laptop. But I have a Sager a re-branded Clevo basically and I like it a lot. The only thing is the HDD went out once , but that was probably my clumsy fault.

This should fit your needs quite well. Has a dedicated GPU standing by if you just so happen need to use it. And yes, this is also a Clevo.

That's honestly not too bad an idea. Did a bit of config myself and whacked in an i7 6700HQ, 128GB Samsung PCI-E card (no other storage) and removed the OS. I'll keep it on the cards. :)
