First off let me start by saying I don't know where this post should go and I thought this might be a decent place to go.

So I have a printer that just flat out sucks... It's a horrible HP printer that was given to me.

Im looking to pick up a printer off craigslist or something like that I just want to know either what company/brands are the best.

All I really want in a printer is:

-Speed

-Accuracy

-Reliability

It does not have to be a color printer. I just want something that is really accurate and speedy that I can always rely on.

I've seen some brother printers that are decent but I don't really know printers very well so if you all would like to give me some info on what you consider to be a good printer that would be great!

Thanks.

Brother makes a good printer. I am using their wireless printer. Do you need a combo with scanner? Canon, Brother, Epson are good brands to pick from

I don't need any extras such as scanning, color, fax, etc. But their always nice in the rare chance that I might need them. Right now my biggest complaint with my printer is the Reliability. Every time I want to use it, it's like a science project.... And its slow.

Laser are more expensive but they are most cost effective in the long run. They also print faster. If regular printing then laser could be fine but the cost for ink is more expensive.

Go laser go

I have a Dell. No problems in a year.

You say you only need black and white. For black and white only, go laser. I have never seen a mono (Black and white) Inkjet in my life, apart from dot-matrix printers.

I have used a Ricoh mono laser printer which works fine and cost £30.
