Hello all,

I'm ordering an entire system tomorrow and have decided to go with the FX-8320. However I'm not sure on this motherboards compatibility because of people mentioning flashing bios' which I don't want to do. Ideally, I want to just slap it on the motherboard and it works.

Heres the motherboard in question  Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P Socket AM3+ 7.1 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard

Basically - Will the FX8320 work out of the box in this motherboard.

Thanks in advance!

It should yes. Worst case scenario, the good guys on here could guide you through the process, it's very simple and only takes a couple of minutes ;)

If you get the black board (latest revision) it's 100% compatible, if you get the blue board (one of the older revisions) there is a chance a BIOS update will be needed but this is very unlikely.

As TechFan@ic said, you will want to make sure you get the Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P which is ready to go without needing a BIOS update. Avoid getting the Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 (without the P) which you will need to update with the new BIOS.
