Corsair 780t custom watercooling

MorganO

Hi,  I'm new here,  I have a few questions on the Length of the radiator I can put in the 780t I plan for at minium  a 40mm EKWB cools stream PE 360 (400mm long)  I plan to place this radiator but I'm unsure on the maximum length of the radiator that can be fitted in the 780t.

another question what radiator can I fit in the front and retain atleast one on the 3.5 drive things?

Last question Where do I mount the pump to in this case?

Uh I'm doing research for a proposed build I will be building (currently a student so part time job)  I run off a laptop with V high Temps so when I game on a laptop 90-100c on the cpu package (intel) (non gaming laptop)  and on the D gpu about 85c soo yeah,  would you like the proposed pc specs?

I7-6800k probably OC to 4.4/4.5?will do Asus 5 way optimization

32GB vengeance led 3200mhz

X99 strix

H100i as stand in for now(will decide Iate on(stand in due to high cost of WC)

525Gb Mx300ssd

corsair RMI1000

EVGA 1080 Ftw (eventually 2)will let gpu boost do the work but power and temp targets to max on prescion x?

Corsair 780t

unless you plan to run sli down the road 1000w is way over kill. and if you DO plan to sli later you should get the 6850k over the 6800k so youll have the full 40 lanes of pci

I have been toying with the idea of a 6850k but the £150 premium Idk if it's worth it and I do plan to SLI just can't afford two gpu at once @£650 per gpu and working a part time job,  I've been told that the 6800k will be fine for 2x gpus and 2x pcie ssds(like the 950 pro) and I won't have any issues,  I'm still currently weighing my options as of now

im running a 6850k and titan x pascals in sli... if your going to be putting this much money into a set up its better off in the long run to save and spend the little extra, plus it has a faster base clock. the 6800k will work but the video cards will only run at 8x each instead of 16x.

Yeah,  I'm thinking I might go the 6850k,  just if I watercooling will a 60mm 360 rad (in push pull) be enough  to cool 2 gpus and a cpu,  because then I can have some hardrives because I think if I get a 40mm 360 for the roof and a 240 in the front as intake then there's no place for the drives is there?

yea a 360mm/60mm thick in PP will be fine for a cpu and sli custom loop. should have some room for OCing as well.

Ok,  so I've been trying between the 780t and evolve atx TG which I love the aesthetic of now my dilemma is which case,  now that I can get away with a single 360 rad what about a 40/38mm 360 in push and a 40mm 240 in pull would this work also,  sorry if I'm being too noob ish (I have a habit of over thinking)

ive been overthinking for the last year planning the build i have now. i know the feeling. ive set my eyes on the caselabs sm8 once they start doing orders again and then ill be doing a custom loop for the 6850k and titan xp sli, i plan to have 480mm/60mm in pp and a 360mm/60mm in pp, should be nice and quiet

Sounds good,  so will I be able to get away with a 40mm 360 up top and a 40mm 240 in the front?

Unrelated but do you happen to know the thickness of the h100i v2?

for a standard AIO i would assume a 25/30mm thick rad.

"Technical specifications

  • Radiator dimensions: 120mm x 275mm x 27mm
  • Fan dimensions: 120mm x 120mm x 25mm"

taken off or corsairs website

so 52mm overall thickness with fans installed

Ok, thanks,  I've done a little more research I think I'm going to go for a 38mm 360 rad in pull as exhaust and 38mm 240 in the front in the evolve tg

I think that should provide adequate cooling.  Now just got to figure out tubing,  I think soft is easier,  and if I was to do hard I wouldn't bed I'd just get 90 degree fittings

First ever build(well it will be once I've finished saving) I have an idea I think I want it to go

pump/reservoir>cpu>radiator>gpus>radiator >pump /reservoir

CPU: Intel9-9900k 5.0GHz at 1.36v  | Cooling: Custom Loop | MOTHERBOARD: ASUS ROG Z370 Maximus X Hero | RAM: CORSAIR 32GB DDR4-3200 VENGEANCE PRO RGB  | GPU: Nvidia RTX 2080Ti | PSU: CORSAIR RM850X + Cablemod modflex white cables | BOOT DRIVE: 250GB SSD Samsung 850 evo | STORAGE: 7.75TB | CASE: Fractal Design Define R6 BLackout | Display: SAMSUNG OLED 34 UW | Keyboard: HyperX Alloy elite RGB |  Mouse: Corsair M65 PRO RGB | OS: Windows 10 Pro | Phone: iPhone 11 Pro Max 256GB

as it will be your first loop, i would go soft tubing with compression fittings. once you go sli on the 1080s then you can take your time and replace the soft with rigid tubing
