Upgrade help

My current build

That GTX 750Ti is due an upgrade, so I am planning to get an ASUS STRIX GTX1080, and I will also stick in another 16GB of ram and an xbox contoller for the ultimate 4K couch setup, when I feel like taking my PC to the living room and using my 4K TV.

Is this too overkill? I feel like having a GPU that is about the same price as my whole build including peripherals would be way too unbalanced. I have never had a high end GPU, so I feel like its totally unreasonable to have a GPU that is this expensive.

This will probably be my last major upgrade to this PC in the next 2-3 years. My budget is ~$1300 Canadian

Keyboard will be upgraded later this year.
