Do i still need a Dac?

I currently own a govibe magnum,its a usb dac with portable amp built in..

 

It sounds great, the amp is doing its job and the bass boost knob works decently well..

 

But when i plug in the usb dac,it has hiss :'(

It has totally no hiss on my onboard audio (i use MSI krait x99A)

It sounds basically the same,i just need the amp to power my headphones,

which is a beyerdynamic T70 250 Ohm

 

Im thinking of changing to a desktop amp,since portable amps need batteries.. And their a hassle for me at home use.

 

I also need analog bass boost, i kinda need abit more punch..

 

And lastly, i don't honestly know if ill need a Dac? Im listening using spotify premium,i dont get discs or anything like that. The furthest ill go is monitoring my ownself

 

So is my onboard audio enough? Or should i get a Dac/Amp combo,i prefer it to be powered by my PC.

 

My brother as a Asus Xonar DGX also, would that suffice? 

 

Btw,if anyone has like an article explaining the differences of Good soundcards and cheaper soundcards.. Stuff like Tube amps,amps,dacs, itll be nice.. I dont really know much about these stuff

 

 

Also, i just sold my other beyers.. Which i used the wires to connect my amp to my Pc

 

I have a 3.5mm cable lying around, which is used for some brandless speakers.. Wouldn't hurt sound quality or anything right?

 

Andddd also, would an audio interface work as good as dac/amp?

if you already have the DAC then try it with and with out and determine which you personally like better. music and other audio sounds different to each person and when it comes to what you think is good, well only you can really know whats best.

 

BUT i MY opinion, most MBs now... especially a nice msi x99, have build in headphone amps already and do a fine job at running sometimes up to 600ohm headphones. personally i go wireless and deal with the slight quality loss as i freaking hate wires.
