Strix 1070 Overclocking Issues
20 minutes ago, PixelBeaver said:Hi everyone,
I've owned my Asus Strix GTX 1070 OC Edition for a few months now, but still have yet to figure out this issue. I love overclocking graphics cards, and even pushed my previous GTX 750 Ti to >960 performance. However, for some reason I am unable to overclock my current 1070 past +60MHz on the clock speed and +60MHz on the memory speed in MSI Afterburner. I looked at some other people's overclocks, and they were all in the range of +200 +700 offset. Any suggesstions or help is appreciated!
EDIT: To be more specific, anything higher than +75MHz crashes the GPU driver immediately whenever I start a game, benchmark, etc.
Motherboard: Asus 970 Pro Gaming/Aura
CPU: AMD FX-9370
This is a great example of why you should use clock speed instead of offset amounts such as +40, +200 and so on when discussing overclocks. Each card is different and comes with a different factory overclock so +40 on your card may result in a completely different clock speed than another card. By the way, nobody has a 700+ offset regardless of how good there Pascal card is, unless you're talking about memory, which is a completely different thing.
