my friend's PC will shut down and to restart it, he has to unplug and replug the power cable. He has   gigabyte z68x-ud3h-b3 mobo, i7 2700k 750 w PSU(gold certified) and he is running an r9 390, he rma his first one and got this one back, same problem ( not sure if its a new one or refurbished ).  The temps get up to 85 to 92 while gaming with the case open and 70 at idle. Drivers are up to date, so is bios.  Why is this happening?. We will test it on my PC tomorrow to see if its the problem with the GPU, it shouldn't harm my computer if it is a bad GPU right?

Thanks.

I don't think that should harm your computer, I'm thinking the problem is in the motherboard or power supply since this is the second gpu with the same exact problem. (i'm definitely no expert)

yea I am thinking motherboard because he has a quality PSU and that shouldn't be it
