Hi! I have a Lenovo Y700 gaming laptop? (AMD-FX) and I was wondering if that laptop, or any laptop uses a traditional power supply?

That's what the power brick is.

The power brick (PSU) converts 220v or 110v AC to 19V ish (mostly sometimes around 10V ish or 13V ish) DC and inside the laptop there are components that can lower the voltage even more when needed ( 5v usb).
