My brother's laptop has been overheating lately causing him problems, so he decided to make a move to the desktop world.

He plays a lot of LoL. Other than that, he mostly surfs the web & watches movies or tv shows. His budget is about 600 Euros = 780 USD

Based on that budget and what we can get from our local shops, I have two versions of the build and I'd like your input.

It's better to go amd rather than intel for low budget builds. Adding a 64gb ssd might take you a bit over but it'll really improve day to day performance. Also I'd get the bitfenix shinobi which has a window and looks much cleaner than the 300r. Also a 400W psu is enough for you, try to find one at about $40 (paying 70 for cx500 is ridiculous)

Go with the AMD build and put some money into a SSD for your OS. Even though you may think a SSD is not worth it it makes the OS boot faster and loads levels faster.

I definitely think SSDs are worth it, i have one in my rig. I just didn't include one here because of the budget, maybe if he has some more money a few months down the line he could add one.

As for the PSU, I'll look into the 400W. I was just thinking of the 500W as a more long lasting solution in case of future upgrades.

With the level of specs in this build you won't have much room for upgrading before running into bottlenecks. Also considering the value of the build, you get better improvement in performance if you just get a new pc a few years down the road

I can get a Corsair Builder Series CX 430W for 45 Euros, so I'll switch to that then.

That saves up some money that might go to a 64GB boot SSD.
