temporary off-shelf pc

What are the lowest specs to settle for on a "Wal-Mart" pc, I need to get a temporary system until I can start and ultimately finish my pc build, I'm shooting for moderate gaming capability while also being used (buying at a pawn shop)

so three questions

How old can I settle (2-5 year old hardware)
minimum specs (RAM, mass storage, cpu, bla bla bla)
and price ($250 max)

pretty much anything with a celeron (or pentium if your lucky) and 2-4gb of ram. as for storage, probably a 500gb hdd.

Check Craigslist and eBay for random used gaming rigs in your area. You can have a Scrapyard War with yourself lmaooo

the last pc I bought online didn't work when I got it home, at least with a pawn shop, if it's DOA, I can take it back.

When I do get my personal rig built, the system I get will get shoved somewhere on my tv stand to be used for web browsing and videos.

beamng! i play that too . i played beamng for about 2-3 years on a celeron 1007u. it was on lowest quality, but i was getting around 15-20fps. if you find a modern celeron (mine was ivy bridge 2c 2t 1.5ghz) then you may be able to play some beamng at decent fps. as for the other games, im not sure.

The setup I had going a month ago was an i3 4160 using intel 4400 graphics, if all I ran was BeamNG, I would get 20-45fps depending on if I spawned the T75 and only two cars lol.

i could only get around 15 fps with one car, and something big like a t series would lag (and occasionally freeze) my game.

I downloaded a mod that put a large dump truck (the one used in strip mines) and actually crashed windows it's self once.
