So I'm looking at building a new Intel based system using my existing corsair rm 650 psu and using my Samsung 840 evolution 120gb ssd for now but the basically a new system (Inc case) but I really wanna get a evga 980ti superclocked and I thought a good mobo to get would be a Asus maximus viii hero z170.

I've always used Asus mobo's and never had an issue. I was just wondering if there was a better bang for my buck mobo that I was missing.

Appreciate any help :)

I have this mobo :) no complaints about it at the moment, had it built about 6 weeks now, easy to overclock and use the  bios etc, my only comment would be to check in to what memory set up you want to run as I've just found out I can only run dual channel rather than quad, and if I have 4 sticks in then they run as a pair of dual channel at a max speed of 2133mhz etc.

Sooooooo if you're going to need super big RAM and do a lot of processing/video editing or run loads of VMs then look for something that can handle those kind of amounts, otherwise it's an ace board :)

Should serve you well. For some reason PCPP is not registering part prices for the H5 or Windows 10, but they are both available in the UK.
