Folding@home -no GPU Task

After hours of not doing nothing with GPU i restarted my PC, that did work :P

Hello,

 

I just started with F@H. At first Both my CPU and GPU Had something to do, but now only CPU has a task, The GPU at Web Control has yellow circe and does nothing. I did not change anything. Is this normal?

Go to your taskbar and right-click the folding@home programme and click on "Advanced Control".

Go "Configure" and then "Slots"

There should be a GPU slot there. If there isn't, send me a screenshot and I'll try to help you out.

I say jiggly-bytes when I see "GB".

It goes down better than you would expect.

No problem.

 

You can see in the main window (before the "Configure" window) that the work is being downloaded.

If you have a look at the top of that window, where it says "Online" highlighted in green, you should see a small tab called "Log".

Click on that and it should say how much of it has been downloaded.

 

Also, I would highly recommend that you don't run CPU workloads. It really isn't worth the power consumption and you'll be getting negligible points in return for what you're putting in.

Rather than saying "don't run CPU workloads", you should advise him to use his CPU cores for something else - say, a BOINC project. But even then, his CPU would still be better used doing F@H WUs instead of being useless while idling. PPD is not everything, you know!
