Good luck, Have fun, Build PC, and have a Wii and PS2 as your only consoles.

Save yourself some money and the open source operating system Ubuntu. Here is a guide for RAID, here is a guide for Samba (Windows shares), here is a guide for remote access, and here is a guide for NFS. Only do the remote access and NFS guides if you already have some Linux knowledge. I run Ubuntu Server on my NAS (just a low end amd FX + < 1TB boot drive + 2 3TB drives in RAID 1) and it works perfectly.
