I have a:

GTX 960 2GB

8GB RAM

i7 4790

500w PSU

1TB HDD

GFX Drivers: 372.90

I upgraded to a i7 4790 last month since I had a i3. I then began testing my new CPU on GTA5, Forza 6 Apex and H1z1. I noticed that I was experiencing lag spikes. When ever I drive fast I start droping FPS to like 2 or when I engage in a shootout, I start stuttering and die. It pisses me off because I spent so much money on this rig and it's not performing at its best. So I reformatted my PC and rest everything. I'm  stilling experiencing this stuttering. I've had this issue for months.

I then installed riva-tuner, CPU temps were around 60-64 degrees which is normal, and GPU temps were 60 aswell. And when I'm playing, the GPU usage plummets to 1-2% and then jumps back, then plummets again. I've also seen that CPU does the same thing some times. I've spent around £700 on this rig and I'm running this game like I've got a integrated graphics card. I've had thoughts of going back to console :\ that's how bad it has gone.

Is there some sort of software that can diagnose my hardware?

I have a Desktop PC: GTX 960

2GB Asus Strix

i7 4790

Asus H81 MOBO

8GB RAM

Corsair 500w

Power Supply

Windows 8.1 64bit

Driver: 372.90

Well I upgraded my CPU last month because I had an i3. After I upgraded my CPU I started to test my CPU on games like GTA5 Forza Apex and H1z1. I started to experience some heavy lag FPS lag spikes, it's just crazy. When ever I'm in a shootout I start droping FPS like crazy which affect my game-play. It's pissing me off. I've had this issue for weeks. So then I reformated my PC reinstalled my games and I'm still coming across the same issue.

I then installed rivatuner, CPU temp is around 60 Degress which is normal for my CPU. GPU 60 degrees. And when I'm playing the GPU all of a sudden plummets to 1% then right back to its normal percentage. Same thing happens to my CPU sometimes. I spent so much money on this rig and it's not performing to its best. I've had thoughts of just selling my PC and going back to console. :\

Is there any software where it can diagnose all my hardware or something like that?

Not sure about your lag problem, but I highly recommend you change your text back to default, since dark theme users can't see this.

Fixed now?

Nope. still not. Alternatively, you may need to copy your text into something like MS Word, apply color to it there, then re-paste it into the forum.

Then choose "remove formatting" at the bottom of the post box.

IMO, this is Invision Power Services fault for forcing IP.Board users to work with one of the shittiest WYSIWYG editors I've used in my 10 years working on websites.

Nope. :( still grey. Just change it to bright red in the editor and we'll call it good. :P

Yey! Since thinking about your issue, I would suggest you trying to play the game without your GPU installed.

For shits n giggles, this will at least narrow it down to being CPU or GPU related.

Example: If you remove your GPU and the game runs better, we instantly know it's an issue with the GPU or your drivers.

Give it a go.
