HHD cable question

I feel dumb to ask this question since I know how to build a pc but..... Nope. to connect the HDD to your motherboard you only need a SATA cable. 

that splitter is to convert one molex plug from your PSU to 2 SATA power, the other cable you need to make a HDD work. But your PSU should come with more than enough SATA power plugs as is.

Only if your putting it in an older system without sata power.

 

But no thats a power cable, to connect to the mobo you'll need a sata data cable.
