New GPU, PC shuts off randomly

Recently have just purchased a new Asus Strix 390, runs great but a huge problem is it is randomly shutting off the pc while gaming. The temps on both the cpu and gpu seem normal with the gpu not reaching over 70c. Never had this issue with my old 660. After playing games for anywhere from 10-45min the pc just shuts off and wont turn back on unless I replug the power supply

i7 2700k

gigabyte z77x-ud3h

16gb ram

750w evga supernova psu

asus 390

How old is the power supply ? Maybe it is the cause, best way is to test it, any good pc shop have a PSU tester , it takes 1 min to test...

As you had no crash before changing the card, and that your temps are good, i would verify my PSU.

Power supply is around 2 years old and the case is an NZXT h440

Usually this happens when the CPU or any hardware over heat. Also could be a lack of power from the PSU i think ?

Another option might be to format your PC start on a fresh windows see if it happens again... it might not be revelent but i don't know what else to think of...

Also,

 

Did u check the temps during gameplay ? only on idle ? or only after opening the game ? You should check your temps each 5 min your in game, watch the highest temps etc.. make sure its not a temp issue...

Cpu is for sure not overheating, and the temps while idle are 55, max is 75 while gaming

Might be a bad driver or vBIOS on the card, sounds like the system is locking up and not shutting down. You might want to try the card in a different desktop and see if anything similar happens.
