Hey Guys/ Girls,

This forum has been pretty useful in the past and to be honest I don't know why it took me so long to ask for help here. I have my finals in less than 2 weeks and I'm required to use word, access and excel, I'm provided 5 copies by my school of Microsoft Office. I previously had Office 2013 installed but about 2 weeks ago I did a clean sweep of my computer as it was lagging and just being slow in general. I went to install Office to realize that I've been upgraded to Office 2016, after installing it I've been having many issues, every time I attempt to open any Office software, it comes up with "Microsoft Excel/ Word/ Access has stopped working". After hours of looking around, I recall having a similar problem awhile back so I decided to run it as an administrator, it works fine. The only problem now is when I try to open saved excel files, it comes up with "There is a problem sending the command to the program" and it doesn't load the file. After hours of searching, I found out that if I just opened Excel > File > Open, I am able to open the file of my choice but it's rather inconvenient. If anyone has any solutions for me, it would be greatly appreciated, I have linked some screenshots of the "pop-ups".

Microsoft suggests that it could be a display problem. My graphics drivers are up to date, the only thing is that I had recently purchased a new monitor the BenQ GW2270, but I had used it with Office 2013 and it had worked fine.

Problem Sending Command: http://prntscr.com/co4lko

Thanks In Advance

Joseph

Allright am not expert on this, but those windows bozo saying it's your display seems way off. This sounds more as an software issue.

have you tried a clean reinstall?

Try to uniinstall it agian with Revo Uninstaller Pro. You can download trial version. See if a deep un install helps, and then try a fresh install again.

Might be connected to your upgrade? Have you tried to download the full offline installer verion of Office?

I would first follow Microsoft's own guide to Uninstall Office 2016, Office 2013, or Office 365 from a PC before trying anything else.

After multiple installs of Office over the years, this has saved my bacon many times. REBOOT YOUR PC AFTER UNINSTALLING.

The article links to guides on uninstalling other version of Office too, in case you had 2007 or 2010 installed.

If that doesn't work, then something else in your Windows installation is causing these issues with Office.

Could it be your graphics? Sure. Could it be Windows being ... Windows? Yup. Could it be that you haven't pooped today? Definitely.

My point here is it could be anything, from a leftover registry key to security software interfering with Office's file handles.

Revo Uninstaller can help with the registry keys if you remove Office using it first, and then run the Office Cleanup Tools from Microsoft.

Get back to us after you run Revo and then the Cleanup Tools.

Hi,

When you say, you did a clean sweep , means you installed the whole system from scratch?

Have you tried running these office programs while beeing logged on with another user?

Have you transferred user profiles between the old and the new one?

Just to make sure there are no old settings within your user profile?!

Windows and Office 2016 fully updated?

Yes, I've installed my whole system from scratch. And I don't have any other users, Office 2016 is up to date and so is Windows 7 and there are no sold settings saved
