Hello,

I'm going to be purchasing the Acer Predator 15 G9-592-71EF but was wondering what your guys' experiences with Acer's Support are. I would be doing light gaming on games like Minecraft, CS:GO, and LoL, lots of YouTube, and light school work. Let me know!

Regards,

Richard

I say don't, 1.8k for a i7 and a 980m is pretty shiet when you can get a i7 and 1060 for 1.2k

Not saying buy that specific laptop, just saying thats what you can get for cheaper

Edit: I don't think you need a gaming laptop for csgo, minecraft, and youtube/schoolwork...

Yea, but I'm looking for something that looks nice ( not a Clevo ) and comes from a company with good product support. Know anything else?

Also, it would be this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0161CFBEU/ref=twister_B016P5U9J0

Asus's Customer support is pretty bad, I say go for a MSI laptop, they are pretty solid, though i don't know which ones are the best

All I can say is acer laptops are pretty bad so...

go for an ASUS ROG then?

Or the razor blade, I don't understand why you need a gaming laptop for such light uses though

I want to ensure that I can game on the laptop since it will be what I game on when I'm away from my workstations. I want it to look nice like the Razer Blade, and I want that company to have good customer support and that the laptop doesn't burn/heat my hands. I will only be playing games like LoL, CS:GO, and Minecraft which aren't very intensive games, watching lots of YouTube and doing school work.

I was considering the Asus ROG GL552VW and the New Razer Blade (1060 version) for some time but ruled them out due to terrible customer service from Razer.

The issue with Asus and Razer alike is their awful customer service, or what I've heard about them. I need a gaming laptop because I will be using it FOR gaming primarily. Also, I looked at the weight of the Acer Predator 15 and its 7.5lbs, which is a ton to carry in a back pack!

Could you elaborate? What was so bad about Acer?

their support is stupid. They make shitty products that is build like a cheap toy, they have no idea of how to cool the parts inside of their laptop, super slow to fix things. Acer is just a brand that you should take a huge step around.

Get a Clevo laptop, they look decent, not that 12 year old wet dream that acer has going on, Clevo laptops are more neutral looking, they don't really look like a gaming laptop, when you compare them to other gaming laptops, they just look like a laptop with some fairly powerful hardware in it. A MSI workstation laptop kinda looks like a Clevo.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M
