Damn 400 is tight. Can you go used? For 400 you can pretty much only get celeron based laptops with 4gb ram which perform like absolute shit.

This particular model goes slightly above 400:

Lenovo IdeaPad 100-15IBD 80QQ00HQMB

If you ask me I'd go used though. You could get yourself an i5 with 8gb and possibly an ssd then.

(only take brands such as asus, dell and lenovo. avoid acer and hp)

CPU: Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.6Ghz CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 GPU: GTX 1070 TI RAM: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 16GB (4x4) Mobo: ASUS Z97-PRO(Wi-Fi ac) PSU: Corsair RM Series RM750 Case: Fractal Design Define R4 no window

I was hoping you would suggest that i can 150% go used if the battery is still good and everything else works :)

Wait, you have a custom water loop but you can't go over 400 for a laptop?

Used it is then. Also, when looking for used stuff, don't give up if you don't find something today. New deals come to those sites all the time, just keep an eye out instead of deciding for something right now. All you need is patience and a little luck.

Okey found my solution, used MacBook Air 2010-2012 or used Macbook pro 2010-2012 for fast OS and good batery life and VPN Remote desktop to my home PC where i can do all the programming.

Don't even bother using remote desktop for programming. It's too slow.

You don't want there to be a 200ms delay every time you type a letter. Writing code isn't that resource intensive anyway. Besides, schools and public networks often block the ports required to use remote desktop services. It'll be pretty much useless outside your home network.

well thats where my mobile internet comes in, i have unlimited data with download speed 50mbit and upload 20 mbit when having a hotspot open with my phone :)  So that would deal with the remote desktop service port problem :)

Its not only on writing code, also debugging, using also other programs as Mathematica, Ansys and maybe more. Thats why i wanted to do it like this, but i am still not sure :/
