Your thoughts on bone conduction for music listening?

Mortis Angelus

I would like to get some bone conduction headphones for every day commuting and to have a at my work place, but before I buy them, I would like to hear your opinions about the technology and how well it works for music.

I want decent audio quality. I do know that it is quite impossible to get really good sound from bone conduction, but from the little I have read, it do seem possible to get decent bass, mid and treble out of the tech.

The ones I have been looking at are these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B018XNGQOE/ref=mp_s_a_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1475099177&sr=8-1-fkmr0&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=aftershokz+titan

The reason being, that I really don't like in-ear plugs, as I don't like how they block the surrounding and how they do not let the air canals breath, but neither do I want to walk around with big headphones either.

I used to have the Plantronics Backbeat 903+, and those were incredibly comfortable, had 7 h of battery life and extremely good sound quality without being in-ear, letting me hear the surroundings as well.

I could go for another pair of plantronics, but I would also like to try out new stuff. But since the Aftershockz are pretty much twice the price of the Plantronics, I rather ask around first.

So what are your opinions about bone conduction technology? Is the technology ready for mainstream use already?

Bone conducting been ready for years and great for running/biking since you can still hear your surroundings while listening to music and it stays on quite well. Sound quality though is pretty bad and no where near iem/headphones, it also doesn't isolate and the vibration is quite audible.
