Hey.

Today I bought a new stick of RAM, 4GB, 1600mhz, exactly the same brand, speed and everything to the other one I had, I installed it, and when I turned the PC on, I was greeted by a message saying something about a change in the "CPU or Memory" and made me go to the BIOS, I didnt knew what to do there, so I just went out and headed to Windows with no noticeable problem, but then I went here to check the RAM and was greeted with this.

So my PC detects all the RAM, but BIOS shows there's only 4GBs on and the System says it's all on, but only 4GBs are working.

I DO NOT HAVE a weird configuration on msconfig to start with certain amount of RAM, googling this problem only showed me people who saw all those "accelerate your pc for free" who did show that instruction, I havent changed that EVER.

So... what should I do? I think is something with the BIOS since it was the first one that alerted me, but I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO SEARCH FOR. :'(

Help me please, oh, you all migthy forum users :c

Thanks in advance for any help.

EDIT:
Just discovered the old ram was a 1866mhz stick and the new one is a 1600mhz, thougth the old one has been always running at 1600mhz because of a limitation (CPU, I think).
Also, I already tried resetting the BIOS / changing to "most optimal settings". No changes.
Also, tried changed the RAMs into each other's slot. No changes

Is the RAM from the same brand at the same clock speed?

Same Brand, Same Model, just one difference, one is 1866mhz and the new one is 1600mhz, JUST DISCOVERED THIS that after seeing the diagram of the motherboard througth the BIOS.

But the BIOS is making all work at 1600mhz because a limitation, I think its the CPU or something, shouldn't that make it work even?

Please help me, this is making me go crazy :'(

(Just made the BIOS go into "most optimal settings"/"resetting")

I really hope it was something as easy as that... :'c
64bit Windows 10.

Check the system configuration settings

This problem may occur because the Maximum memory option is selected incorrectly. To fix this, follow these steps:

  1. Click StartStart button, type msconfig in the Search programs and files box, and then click msconfig in thePrograms list.
  2. In the System Configuration window, click Advanced options on the Boot tab.
  3. Click to clear the Maximum memory check box, and then click OK.
  4. Restart the computer.

The motherboard is a A68HM-E33 V2. I'm using the stock BIOS, haven't updated just because of fear (I have seen many cases of people with dead computers because the BIOS update went wrong somehow). Should I try updating it?

yeah you need 8.4 i think as 8.3: - Improved memory compatibility.

Updated, no changes.

Someone on reddit said " You may have RAM allocated for your iGPU, Check your BIOS to see what it's allocation is. "
I'm honestly LOST on what that would mean and how to do it...

Any clues?

I installed a RX470 (Strix Gaming) GPU just today, it arrived with the RAM. (I installed the GPU first, see if everything worked well, then installed the RAM when I realized I forgot to do it before, so I really doubt that could be an issue.)

Have you tried booting with just the new sticks installed?
