Help! Display Port Issues

Go to solution Solved by Votivee,

I have solved this issue by taking the card out and reinserting it back into the board, and blowing out both the display port connectors and the PCI slot.

So today when I got home I figured I would mess around and put a spare graphics card I had laying around into my system. After I put the GPU into my system along with my original GPU, my display port connection stopped working on both cards. I have made sure all drivers are up to date and even changed cords but the only way I can get my system to display is with HDMI. In the picture shown, my monitor shows up but no matter how many times I click the check box nothing happens. It was working fine almost an hour ago and I have no other solutions.

Could it be your CPU doesn't support enough PCIe slots? Also, if you put two, they have to be in SLI or Crossfire to work together.

I took it back out because I decided to give up and stop messing with it. Now I just want my monitor to work again...

Oh. Uh... you didn't... um... fry anything on your mobo did you... If not, try restarting your PC, monitor settings, etc. You might need to ask a real professional or someone more knowledgeable than me here on the forums.

I don't think I could have fried anything on either the GPU or the MOBO, I took the normal safety precautions before I worked on it. Thanks for your help though
