PC doesn't always posts with new PSU

Mobby Dick

Hey guys,

today I replaced my Corsair VS 650 with an EVGA G2 650. To swap out all the cables I had to unplug everything but the cpu. After installing the PSU the PC didn't post at first. After restarting a few times it worked and I first set all my OC-settings to default (I had my CPU at 4.5 ghz and a pretty high voltage before) and that's basically it.

Now the PC doesn't turn on the first try (all the fans are spinning, HDD is spinning and everything that should light up lights up, but no post on the screens) and I have to restart it a few times to make it work...

Do you guys have any idea why this happens? I have absolutely no idea how to fix this...

My specs:

AMD FX-8350

Asus M5a99x

BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 3

Gigabyte GTX 960

For storage some HDD and a 850 evo (250gb)

Asus Xonar DX

EDIT: It worked for 5 times in a row now so everything seems to be fine again ^^

Why did you not change the CPU power cable?

It's not a race to the bottom.

Sorry my grammar failed :D I had to unplug all my parts (like usb header cable, graphics card, sound card, etc.) but the cpu itself + cooler was one of the only things I left in the PC ^^
