They'll tell you the same thing. The worst that can happen is that they don't work together, nothing can break unless you mess something up during installation (which is pretty much impossible with RAM). 

 

RAM is typically only tested and certified in kits, so any combination outside of the kit is not certain to work. Match the specifications and you should be fine.

Thats why I want to ask them. Because I would have 1 8Gb Kit and 1 16Gb kit in the same system
