Sudden Chrome Crash

Go to solution Solved by Jaxion08,

Try using Revo Uninstaller to uninstall it. It launches the regular uninstaller, then scans the PC for files related to the program you removed, so it picks up the extra left over junk. I always go for the advanced mode, which just shows all the files it found and allows you to double check them if you wish. It sometimes will pick up a file that can't be removed without restarting the computer and will inform you that it'll be removed on the next restart. Do so if needed, then try reinstalling again.

If that doesn't work, then I'm basically out of ideas.

I was just horrified at sudden Chrome crash symptom.

When I try to open Chrome,

1) Chrome window is succesfully opened. However...

2) Chrome displays ' Aw, snap! Something went wrong while displaying this webpage. Learn more / Reload '

3) Both 'Learn more' and 'Reload' key doesn't work. When I click on them, literally no response at all. At least Chrome recognizes that I'm clicking, but anyway nothing happens.

4) Simultaneously Chrome informs me that every single extension I installed on it has crashed. "(Extension name) has crashed. Click this balloon to reload the extension."

5) When I click on them, the same window notifying crash pops up AGAIN. Click once more? Same thing happens.

6) As far as I remember, my Chrome was latest. Maybe v53.0.2785.

Soooo.... what should I do to fix this? I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome with cash delete by CCleaner, but the symptoms are still remaining.

Are you able to get to Chrome settings? If so, three dots in upper-right corner>Settings>Advanced Settings>Reset Settings. Also remove all your extensions.

If that didn't work, try doing a malware scan.

Unfortuately settings doesn't work, either.

When it comes to malware, I've got Avira Free Antivirus and another sub-antivirus software for ransomware. And nothing pops up.

I think I've heard of it. What about GeekUninstaller, which I knew before?

Never heard of GeekUninstaller. According to this

http://www.ghacks.net/2015/04/18/which-program-is-the-most-thorough-software-uninstaller-on-windows/

Revo Uninstaller is the most thorough at finding files and registry entries, but Geek Uninstaller is better at actually recognizing all of the programs because Revo wasn't compatible with 64 bit programs. However, that article was written last year and looking at the Revo website it looks like they added 64 bit support in August this year, so I'm guessing that doesn't apply now.

Okay then. I'll try with Revo and tell you whether it was successful or not. Thanks!

Okay, so.... I did all the procedures that Revo suggested and reinstalled it.

Results? The exact same. And it's getting worse : this time Firefox crashes.

Of course I'm not blaming you but... what should I do now :(

Try launching Windows in Safe Mode w/ Networking, see if that works.
