Hi! My PC has never had any issues before. I built it in August. It is watercooled with these h100i-v2 and has a core i7-6700k NON-overclocked at the default voltage. I was playing overwatch when I noticed it was getting really, really loud. I play overwatch a lot and haven't ever had issues with overheating, so I closed the game and went into Speccy. It displayed that my CPU was at 95°C. I freaked out, turned my PC off for a while, turned it on and went straight to the BIOS. Then proceeded to watch as my temps began to rapidly rise to 60°C, then 80°C, to 85°C where it began dropping voltage. In the freaking BIOS. I can hear the pump, and I can definitely hear the fans, so what the fuck is happening. This is seriously scaring me.

put your hand on the tubing, if it's warm there must be something really wrong with the AIO - a clog or something

it can also be that Speccy isn't reading the temps correctly - use the supplied utility by the mobo manufacturer

but, if you say in the BIOS shows hi temps ....

Has the tower been moved around? First thing I'd try is reapplying thermal paste as you eliminate the paste having expired and also re-seat the block.

CPU: AMD Sempron 2400+ / MOBO: Abit NF7-S2G / GPU: WinFast A180BT 64MB / RAM: Mushkin DDR333 256MBx2 / HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 120GB

Fist thing I'd try is to load optimized bios defaults.

then

-Confirm your fans and pump are working correctly. .

-Check the water block mount.

-Check temps with a laser thermometer (skip if you dont have one)

-reapply thermal paste

-Throw on an air cooler.

That's what I'd do in that order at least. If i get through that list the problem is probably hardware related. Look for a bios update etc, look for dead hardware.

Silent build - You know your pc is too loud when the deaf complain. Windows 98 gaming build, smells like beige

Hm.

Given the consideration that it was working, and then is was not...

I could only really see it being either the fluid within the AIO having some sort of issue, or perhaps the pump turbine shredded. I can't imagine the turbine being made of anything more than a bit of plastic.

The tubing is not hot. I turned it on after letting it sit overnight and went straight into the BIOS. Within 10 minutes it went from room temperature to 85°C, while sitting in the bios.

get some air cooler and test it with, see if temps go down or not

there is still the possibility of that AIO is borked

Yes, the tower has been moved. However, the cooler is only a few months old and was working fine just an hour earlier. The block was secured tightly and does not look like it's been unseated at all

If I can't figure out anything I'll try to get an air cooler. It could take a few weeks though, unfortunately I don't live in a place with a good computer store around and the CPU didn't come with a cooler. The tower was moved, but nothing got into the tower or jostled it in any significant way.

Having issues with a Corsair AIO? Possible fix here:

Spoiler

Are you getting weird fan behavior, speed fluctuations, and/or other issues with Link?

Are you running AIDA64, HWinfo, CAM, or HWmonitor? (ASUS suite & other monitoring software often have the same issue.)

Corsair Link has problems with some monitoring software so you may have to change some settings to get them to work smoothly.

-For AIDA64: First make sure you have the newest update installed, then, go to Preferences>Stability and make sure the "Corsair Link sensor support" box is checked and make sure the "Asetek LC sensor support" box is UNchecked.

-For HWinfo: manually disable all monitoring of the AIO sensors/components.

-For others: Disable any monitoring of Corsair AIO sensors.

That should fix the fan issue for some Corsair AIOs (H80i GT/v2, H110i GTX/H115i, H100i GTX and others made by Asetek). The problem is bad coding in Link that fights for AIO control with other programs. You can test if this worked by setting the fan speed in Link to 100%, if it doesn't fluctuate you are set and can change the curve to whatever. If that doesn't work or you're still having other issues then you probably still have a monitoring software interfering with the AIO/Link communications, find what it is and disable it.
