Cooling a 6800k?

Would the Cryorig H7 cool the i7 6800k? I'm am planning a build and I am new to Pc gaming. But I would like to game, produce music and render videos on After Effects. And I am not overclocking.

the 6800K will not work in a LGA 1151 socket, you will need a LGA 2011-3 (X99) motherboard for that CPU!

 

If you mean the 6700K tho, that cooler would do fine!

be warned though, X99 motherboards can get a bit expensive! MSI has some nice budegt friendly X99 motherboards i think.

For just a bit of editing you can also stay on the Z170 and take a 6700K. Is best gaming CPU and can still do decent rendering.

I guess i will stay with the 6700k, I think I will not be doing rendering often and it will be $200 cheaper.

The H7 should be just fine for cooling that CPU.

If you're not overclocking you can use most any CPU cooler.

I have a 5820k overclocked to 4.2 and even my Hyper Evo 212 keeps it at a reasonable temp.

I'm not planning on overclocking, too much of a noob to do so. lol. But I think using the cpu unoverclocked will be fine for what I am doing.

Yeah for now its fine. But having the option in the future is handy to have if you would run in a limit then. Many people thanked me in the past for still advising having a OCable system. It can give that 1-2 extra years of useable lifespan. Is lot cheaper then buying new.

Fair enough, I'll look for a better cpu cooler (for overclocking)

Can recommend the Scythe Fuma. Is a very good, but not to expensive cooler.
