my :d drive is my desktop

I recently aquired a new hard drive and added it to my computer and wanted to move majority of my files over to that, so i tried adding a new folder naming it desktop and moving my desktop over to that with properties and location once i moved it over it turned the whole drive into my desktop. i tried reverting it back to users my name and desktop to realise whilst in the users file that desktop has disappeared and where adding it back gave me the error: failed to build the list of regular subdirectories under ":d/ system volume information" access denied. I again looked to the users file my named folder "jackson" had disappeared and when i tried to add that back it gave an error and deleted the folder now the folder disappears without an error. how do I put the desktop back?

Do you need this desktop folder? I never use it personally.

Did you find a way to fix this? I see the idiots above had no actual suggestions on how to fix it so was wondering if you found a way?
