Balanced mode  shows power draw of 34 watts.  cpu seems to spend most of its time under 2ghz.   PC doesnt really feel laggy, but sometimes things dont open as fast as you know they can (like chrome)  Idle power draw 32watts

high performance mode, with minimum processor setting set to 0 -   cpu bounces back and forth between 1.5 and 3.5 ghz.  indicating that any demand on the cpu at all causes it to ramp up quickly.   Voltages still drop as expected at low frequency,  just sitting idle for several minutes the cpu will not STAY under 2.0 ghz.   idle power draw 36 watts'

i say leave it in performance with the minimum state lowered?   what say you

ive noticed in performance mode
even when i set Min to 0% and Max to 100%
any CPU usage will trigger the CPU to go to 100% speed

which is fine if you want the performance, but of course it will increase power consumption and heat output

personal preference. i dont mind manually changing power modes

I wonder if performance mode negates the effects of c-states, or if it makes the cache run at a higher performance level all the time as well.   Ill have to look at HWinfo to see for sure.

I dont mind leaving it in performance mode, but when im away, i want it to be as power efficient as possible. thats my only drawback.,
