Games suddenly capped at 30fps

Coldris

I don't know what happened, but my computer's suddenly started capping my games at 30fps. I have massive problems with my monitor and blurry images at even 60fps, but games are simply laggy and unplayable at 30. My monitor's a generic one I purchased from the local tech store, and im running a 970, 4790k, and 16gb of RAM. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

your computer probably switched from 970 to onboard GPU. Right click on screen - Nvidia settings - Manage 3D settings  something and there in Global settings change settings from onboard gpu to your dedicated GPU.

To be exact :

From NVIDIA Control Panel:
3D Settings-> Manage 3D settings
The Tab "Preferred graphics processor " , select
High performance NVidia processor

I can't find the preferred graphics processor tab. The best I have is CUDA - GPU's which is set to 970.

Try turning it off

I've done that, it worked, im now back around 80 fps for battlefield, but the screen tearing is hurting.

Your computer got the Ubisoft virus. Sanitize it immediately! It could lead to permanent framerate tolerance and cinematic dellusions!

..okay. I'll show my way out.

Screen tearing shouldn't happen, now should it :P

Don't start a post without pc specs.

It really shouldn't, that's why I used vsync in the first place. It's hard to choose between massive amounts of blur, or screen tearing.

Don't set half refresh rate, just set to Adaptive.
