All games runs bad

Hello everyone

My issue is that my system cannot run any game smoothly, no matter if it is 2D or 3D (Terraria/Starbound or RO2/R6 Siege). I don't know what could be the source of the problem.

Anyways, My specs are:

- CPU: AMD FX-8370

- GPU: GTX 980 Ti G1

- RAM: 12GB in total (3 generic sticks, 2 at 1066 and one of 1333 I think)

- MB: MSI 970 Gaming

It might be the processor that is limiting you ,

Crap PSU?

amd cpu's lowering your performance, but how bad are you running games? I don't think fx-8370 generally lowers 980 ti performance to unplayable level.

Come on now. I know the FX-8370 isn't all that great especially in single threaded workloads, but it should be able to handle Terraria.

Not really - 8370 is more than capable of handling 2D games - it's not nearly as bad as people make it out to be

It's not the CPU - it's impossible for it to become unplayable with an 8370 - less than ideal? Sure. Unplayable? no.

Hello, Wraight cooler that came with my CPU and it plays cool, 50 C* or less

Things that might be at fault:

Thermal throttling of the CPU or GPU due to misapplied/broken cooler

Messed up GPU drivers

Malware or bugs on the OS

Maybe that funky RAM config ( although even if all the sticks are being run at 1066MHz single channel, RAM bandwidth shouldn't be holding you back)

Yes, on 2d and 3d games

Try going into the bios and disable TurboCore, and also make sure you disable APM (could be Application Power Management.)

A big thank you man!

I just had to change the values of CPU ussage on APM to 99%

Eveything is stable now. I will leave an image of how to if anyone have this problem.
