GTX 970 no image

Couple of days ago I got an ASUS GTX 970 STRIX. But when I put it in my system, it doesn't post. There's no image on the screen and the motherboard speaker doesn't make its usual post sounds. My old graphics card works just fine (Radeon 6770). I tried updating the BIOS on the motherboard and still nothing. Please help.

 

Specs:

AMD FX6300 stock

MSI 760GMA-P34(fx) mobo

Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (4GBx2) RAM

EVGA 600B PSU

Yup, the little white LED on the card lights up and fans spin.

Having the same issue w/ my GTX1070 updated windows & HP assistance.  I have 1x6pin & 1x8pin the GPU has 2x8pin slots. So I just use 1x8pin slot.  No logo @ start-up. How do you fix?
