Generally easiest to update the drivers to the latest from the manufacturers website first as Windows update will download drivers which might not be up to date but in general it doesn't matter.

no need to install drivers however if this isnt your boot drive you need to initialize it in disk management

The moment you install Windows on your new drive, Windows will automatically download drivers for your hardware the moment it is connected to Windows update. But of course, it is advisable to use Manufacturer's latest drivers as some of the drivers Windows download for you might not be updated as he pointed out.
