Hello

I am in need of a new gaming computer. my current one has died and now all i have it my laptop that is not strong enough for gaming. I don't have a lot of money because i have a terminal heart condition and i am unable to work. so i am stuck in the house most of the time. so i will have to save up for this, the reason i am coming here and asking this question i do not want to save up for months and then buy stuff that is not good or buy stuff that i could have gotten by with for cheaper.

so the games i play are

Elite Dangerous

X-Plane 10 (11 when it comes out)(Steam)

 Empyrion Galactic Survival (Steam)

Call of Duty (Steam)

this is just a few.

Thank you for any help and for taking the time to read this

Thanks for putting this in the right place

as for a max budget 2.5K to 3K it will take a long time to be able to save up for that (i can save maybe $250.00 a month) but my main concern is that i get something that is going to last and that it's needed . i don't mind saving up for it but i don't want to buy expensive just for the sake of buying expensive. and i live in Massachusetts, USA.

Looks pretty good but there are some things I would change. That PSU isn't the best and 1200W is overkill. For the PSU, I would get a 750W Gold or Platinum rated one such as the EVGA SuperNOVA 750 P2. Secondly, Microsoft is aggressively pushing for Windows 10 so I would get Windows 10 to be able to play future Halo games and uses new features. Also, what hard drives did you choose? Are they reliable models?

Due to the way X-Plane and OpenGL works, it's single threaded, so single core performance becomes the bottleneck in X-Plane 10. You should probably look at a 4790k or 6800k instead, and plane to overclock it. They will overclock higher than a 6850k. There are some improvements with faster memory, so I'd go with DDR3-2400 for the 4790k or DDR4-3200 for the 6800k (about the sweet spot for prices).

I also echo the comments about the power supply. You would probably be fine with a quality 600 or 760 watt supply.
