Hey guys, since my last post I have been deciding between two laptops, not the strix and the other asus one, but the razer blade and razer blade stealth plus the core. I've been really deciding and thinking about the two, but I still haven't been able to come to a conclusion of which one to choose.

The blade stealth has a good battery life and is good for just browsing the web and playing minor games. With the addition of the core, I can be able to play games, but I'm limited to where I have an outlet or the needed space.

The blade has a 1060 in it, allowing me to play games with it when I need to, but the battery life is about 5 hours compared to the advertised 9 of the stealth. It's a bit heavier, louder, hotter, and thicker than the stealth, and is 100 dollars more expensive than the combo of the stealth and core, including the $100 off the core when purchasing the stealth.

Thanks, I could seriously use your help, and I'm still saving up enough money to buy any of them, though I'm closing on in affording the stealth.

Well then there's the answer I'll give you, get the blade

Blade 14 - overheats due to the absurd components in such a chassis, runs at 60+dB meaning that it's as loud as a vacuum cleaner (I'm not exaggerating), Razer customer support is VERY bad - they won't help you at all. The keyboard is poor, the speakers are laughable and the resolution creates scaling issues in most games. - Bad product

Blade Stealth - runs extremely hot (90*C) and quite noisy - has very poor battery life due to the screen, 9 hours are not even possible on this machine - 6 at most. The CPU inside bottlenecks the 960 quite badly as it's a low-power dual-core with HT - it's slower than a desktop i3 due to the 15W TDP limit not allowing it to hold it's Turbo clock. - Keyboard is even worse, you have no key travel and it's very mushy, screen resolution makes even windows have scaling issues, overall - worse product.

My advice - either get a powerful ultrabook like the XPS 15 or UX501VW or forget about small and powerful and get a XPS 13 or UX305

Feel free to consult @D2ultima for a proper Pascal gaming laptop from Clevo.

Also forget about eGPU - it's not good at the moment.

All of Razer's laptops are trash. Overpriced trash. Don't even bother with any of them.

If you want super thin and light and able to play games, it isn't happening. Especially not with Pascal.

The thinnest machines you're going to get that are directly capable of holding a 1060 in it that I've seen thus far, are MSI's GS63VR and the Clevo P650RP6. The GS43VR, with proper repastes and fan control can do it, but the heatsink layout is dangerous to the ports (HDMI, USB on the side), the wifi card and its slot, and it's close to the PCH which is passively cooled on the system. It's a disaster of a layout, and I do not recommend it at all.

Note that while I have seen GS63VRs holding their temperatures with proper paste jobs using good paste, I don't know their internal layout, and thus I don't know if there's any danger to the other internal parts like the GS43VR has.

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.
