windows Windows server storage pools

I have a windows server (2012 R2) and one hard drive. Storage pools only uses unallocated space and you can only have one allocated space and I want two drives for storage and programs. Is it possible?

Are you talking about physical drives or partitions?

You can make them different drive letter and completely ignore the new storage spaces thing and use it just like windows 95.

Your looking for partitions not storage spaces, sure you could do ss, but there is absolutely 0 reason to ATM. when you looking into hw/sw raid / zfs / storage pools then look into it. Also, just google search it, technet has detailed how-to on the topic.

 

Just open diskmgmt.msc

Make a new partition.

May need to shrink the current partition before you can do the previous step.
