Hey guys! what is the highest number of gigs that is available on a single ram stick? (single,2/4/8).

and what's the highest number of speed?

 

and does the computer become faster with more number of ram?

since a man is building his own supercomputer here,he has 24 gigs of RAM on a single stick! is that possible?

There are 16Gb and 32Gb sticks in the market but mainly for server use. Most Modules are 1, 2, 4, and 8 GB typically

 

As far as I know the fastest ram available in consumer market is about 3200mhz. I think that was CES when Linus and the crew was talking about it. 

 

Realistically speaking your PC will not gain much performance unless you are using an APU rig, otherwise there is no point of going over 1600 ( the current sweet spot)

8Gb sticks on the consumer market mate. I think with the introduction of DDR4 with Haswell-E, it will bring 16Gb sticks to the table. Be prepared to pay a hefty premium!
