Motherboard will not post

Hi, I tried to turn on my PC today. Everything turns on fine but the monitor will not display anything. I know the monitor works. My PC was just fine yesterday, so I'm not sure what the problem is. I've also heard no beeping sounds.

FX-6300 @ 3.9

M5A97 PLUS mobo

EVGA GTX 950 SC

8 gigs of Crucial ram (1 stick)

EVGA 400 watt psu

WD Blue 1 TB HDD

PNY 120 GB SSD

That's not the problem. The cable works on my old laptop.

The FX-6300 doesn't have an iGPU

lol my monitor can only use the dvi to vga port so yeah

Are the fans spinning? I'm pretty sure the CPU is not seated properly. You gotta have a working CPU to give error codes (beeps).

could you try it on something else iv had old monitors die over night.

Connected the monitor to a laptop the same way i do using my pc and i get a display from it

What do you mean?

If a PC doesn't post there are 2 possible reasons: a bad mobo or bad CPU. If your fans are spinning I doubt it's the motherboard. Take the CPU cooler and reseat the CPU in the socket.

i have seen the ports in motherboards fail it could be that.

I fixed the problem. I put the RAM stick into another slot and it booted. Thanks for all the help guys, i really do appreciate it!!!!
