Really dumb question. . .

LeeYoh

Ok, so I'm looking up the comparisons in CPUs (mostly i5s).  I don't know if this is really accurate but most sites say 4690k beats 6600k?  What's your opinion about this guys?  I was ready to go 6600k but the 4690k kind of preventing me.  Thanks in advance!

A 6600k is 10% faster than a 4690k at the same clockspeeds AND a 6600k supports DDR4 (which is also faster than DDR3). Plus a 6600k also has DMI 3.0 (so more bandwidth for things like PCIE SSDs). So whatever site you looked at is 100% wrong in every way possible.

based on Science Studio from youtube.  6600k is only 4.04% faster only? I'm not really sure to be honest.

At stock speeds it might since I think the 4690k has a higher base clock (though I think the 6600k turbos more so it's a mute point) but that isn't very relevant since your getting a k series chip, also at the same clock speed the 6600k should win by 3-8%

It depends on the specific use case. In many games you wouldn't notice a drastic difference, in others you would notice a bigger difference. But the point is a 6600k is all around better than a 4690k. So unless a 4690k+Z97 motherboard+DDR3 happens to be significantly cheaper, a 6600k is a MUCH better buy.

That's about right, they average 5% if the same clock is compared, so his was just slightly lower quality or his 4690 was slightly higher
