Hi, im about to build my first PC and I need to chose a CPU, I was debating on the 6800k or 6700k.

I will be mainly playing games but will also be doing photoshop and CAD work.

A store near me is selling the 6800k at the same price as the 6700k, should I buy it? Or is the 6700k better?

Any help is appreciated!:)

If they're selling the CPUs at the same price, buy the 6800K because why not.

6700k because the mobo is cheaper too. Should be enough. 6800k is more for heavy renedring

Both are great for gaming, photoshop, and CAD work. X99 motherboards are a tad more expensive than Z170. There's also no integrated graphics, though I'm assuming that if you're gaming, you'll buy your own graphics card.

The 6800K has six cores clocked a bit lower than the 6700K, but you can overclock to make up the difference. If you don't overclock for whatever reason, the 6800K will still perform a little better in CPU workloads that use all of its cores, or it can perform a little worse if it doesn't. Differences in gaming performance will be negligible.
