no bootable device press any key to reboot

Sup Fam's:

I just sold my friend my old parts from my computer. he only needed to buy a new hard drive and he used an older power supply of his. the only thing i could think about is either the hard drive is faulty or the motherboard is dying. and possibly the power cable for the hard drive is also faulty. i never had this problem before until i gave him the parts though. any ideas that i can try before we return the hard drive or try swapping motherboards temporally with someone else? we tried resetting the bios and a different sata cable. and that's pretty much it. also the picture is what he gets on the screen exactly.

Thanks for Any replies.

that means since he has a new hard drive, there's no windows install

you're going to have to reinstall windows
