Change Mobo without Reinstalling windows? (Using WIN10 right now)

 

Changing from a (asus) H61M-K to a P8P67 Pro rev 3.1 ---> Cpu i7 3770 non k

It can be hit and miss, sometimes it works fine, sometimes it doesn't. I've encountered both situations when changing boards. 

 

I would advise backing up any important data before changing the board so that you don't lose anything important if you need to re-install.

Very likely you will encounter issues due to driver issues (BSODs) and god knows what else. It is safer to take the reinstall route.

 

Plus you can update to the newest build of W10 without any upgrade remainings (leftover files). And review the files/apps on the PC (as in minor cleanup).

deactivate your windows key before switching mobos. re-activate after upgrade is finished.
